COUPLE’S CORNER -The Day We said I DO

Rodliz’s Nest

When I look at the theme for this week I know how I will going to tell you the story of my wedding day. When I was single one of my dream was to get married in a church where I have bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl meaning I like the wedding that you will cherish forever with your parents beside you. Well, that was not happened but I got married. This is hard thing to tell you because it makes my heart sad but anyway I will still tell you. After hubby and I met in the first time we decided to file a fiancee visa to get married in US. That time I am still in my last year in college. We did not knew that the visa came 7 months later. The visa will expire in September and my schooling will end at October so my decision needs to be fixed whether visa or schooling. My boss told me that better go for the visa and finish my college here in USA. So after the processing getting my airline ticket i came here last June 2005. Hubby have a small farm in which he grows a blueberry that harvest from last week of May till second week of July. So I came during blueberry harvest season. It was very very busy for us to get married. But hubby don't like to hear others talking about us being in one house then we are not married even nothing happened yet.(lol)
We decided to get married in that week since we have 2 days off from work. We went to the courthouse of our place but there are so many papers to do and it looks like we cannot get married so we went to other city to get married. Before going to the place where our wedding will be held hubby and I went to a jewelry store and bought two simple wedding rings. I bought also a simple clothes to wear during my wedding. Everything was simple and i felt very sad but at the same time happy because I have my husband who always cares for me and love me. I almost cried thinking that I am going to get married by civil only not the dream wedding I wanted to have. even the family of hubby are not there since they are living in different state far from us. We are only two of us and the person that married us. After the quick civil wedding we came home since the next day was a big day of our harvest. We do not have any honeymoon just like other weeded couple. I hope you like my story and next week another story will be revealed.

Mommy Gen, halos pareho tayo ng story noh! Sino ba naman ang hindi nangarap na ikasal sa church with all the entourage ek ek di ba? But, sometimes, things will happen differently that you're expected. Ang mahalaga eh nakasal kau di ba? HE loves you, you love him. Yung iba ngang coupls na kinasakasal ng engrande, naghihiwalay naman. I'd rather get married humbly, and stay with my hubby forever, than have a grand wedding and separate afterwards.

Malay mo, time will come na ikasal ka rin sa church, di ba? aba, di pa naman huli ang lahat, habang may buhay may pag asa..

I love your story, I can relate to it.. Have a great day!

Ano nga ba ang kasal?Sabi nga nila it's just a piece of paper 'though it's very noble compare to just a piece of paper. But what is really matter is you're both inlove & that's the important thing.I love your story & can't wait to read more.

well, some things just don't happen the way we want them to be. because perhaps it's for the best.

sabi nga nila, God gives us what we need, not what we want. perhaps you need a devoted husband whose love will make you feel grand for the rest of your life :)

salamat sa pagbisita!

Probably those are the people who takes marriage very seriously, maybe too seriously. If you lived together for several years, you are like married couple, but when they do get married, probably they want something much more.

Work with their wedding theme...or else it will stick out like a sore thumb. If her colors are purple and white, then you stick to those 2 colors. If she has a specific theme, like "The Perfect Pair" then you could make a pear tree and add pictures and memories to the branches.

When I was growing up, I wanted to let my loved ones know that I do love them and I care for them, and now that I am married, hindi maalis sa akin to say I love you... parang common na sa amin ni Winn to say the lovely words and makes us both happy and sweet to each other which I really like the most
